In brief
- 01Odyst has no user accounts.
- 02We do not collect personal information.
- 03We do not sell or share data with third parties.
- 04The only data stored in your browser is your theme preference.
Odyst is a public, read-only archive. There is no sign-up, no profile, no comments, no favorites, no reading history synced anywhere. We do not ask for your name, email, or any other personal identifier to use the site.
We use a single piece of browser storage to remember your light/dark theme choice across visits. No tracking cookies, no advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting.
You can clear it any time through your browser's site-data settings without affecting your ability to read the archive.
Like any web server, ours records standard request data (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp) for short-term operational purposes such as diagnosing errors and protecting against abuse. These logs are rotated and not used to build profiles of visitors.
We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which entries are read. If used, it is configured to not set persistent cookies and not to collect data that can identify individual readers.
We may display advertisements through third-party providers (such as Google AdSense) to help cover hosting costs. These providers may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. You can opt out of personalised ads through your browser or the provider's opt-out tools.
If you write to support@odyst.com, we keep your message only as long as needed to reply and act on it. We do not add you to any mailing list.
The archive is suitable for general audiences. Because we collect no personal information, the site is equally safe for younger readers. Parents and guardians remain the best judges of which folktales are age-appropriate.
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date at the top of this page will change with it. Material changes will be made obvious. We don't plan to start collecting data quietly.
Questions about privacy go to support@odyst.com. See also our terms.
